SEO Suggestions
Suggestion #1: Original content that links to & quotes from Google's experts.
Google likes when you quote & link to its experts (ie. the top 5 search results in a given query). Here are few websites that Google considers experts in good web design / good websites. These are not sites that *I* think are experts, but to get high on Google, you should link to and quote from its experts. (ie. the things that show up when searching for "Best Websites" "Top Beautiful Websites" "Web design gallery" "Best CSS website gallery" etc.).
I suggest extending the about page or writing a more detailed "why this site exists" which critiques these & their methods sites. Lets find a not cheesy way to link to a few these sites, quote full sentences from them, and include original containing CS3's opinion about these site / opinions about general trends in how great websites are picked:

Suggestion #2: Rock the title bar
I suggest extending the page's title with the keywords people are most likely to search for when wanting our site -- while keeping it:
a) Very short
b) Human readable
How about this for the title "Command Shift 3 - The Best Web Designs and Layouts Ever - Submit and Vote For Top Websites"
And stick the very fun & clever "Like Hot or Not for Websites" / "Like KittenWar for Websites" on the actual page, but not the <title> tags...
Suggestion #3: Title="blah blah" on <a> tag for the two screenshots
I suggest making the alt tags on the images read "Vote the layout and design of XXXXXX.COM"
